Considerations

  • Epoxy resin is two-component and cannot be used without mixing the components.
  • Do not use outside the specified application thickness range. Low thickness may cause late drying and high thickness may cause burning / yellowing problem.
  • Never heat the product during mixing and application.
  • Use a hot air gun to remove surface foam, or you can quickly pass a blue burner flame from the surface.
  • Use a vacuum machine to completely eliminate the possibility of air bubbles.
  • When preparing the mixture of products, always use sensitive scales.
  • For whatever reason, do not mix any material that does not fit the system into the product.
  • Make sure that the equipment you use during the application is dry and clean.
  • Take care to do the applications at room temperature (+23 ° C).
  • Low temperature may cause late drying and high temperature may cause premature drying.
  • Low temperature causes thickening in the consistency of the products and may cause differences in application results.
  • Low temperatures may cause crystallization in resins. Before using, allow the crystallized resin to dissolve by exposing it to +60 ° C to +80 ° C temperature.
  • Do not move the system until you are sure that the spilled product is completely hardened. Otherwise, it may cause undulation on the surface.
  • Do not forget to use work safety equipment.
  • Avoid contact with your skin.
  • Epoxy resins can cause allergies. If you observe an allergic reaction on your body, consult a doctor immediately.
  • Store the unused product indoors at temperatures between +15 and +35 ° C, away from direct sunlight.
  • Do not keep the products with the cover open.
  • Keep away from children.
  • Do not leave the products obtained as a result of the mixture under direct sunlight.
  • Yellowing inside the package may occur in products that are waiting unused.

How to use Grip Lumen

You can use Grip Lumen in 4 easy steps:

Measure: The first step is to measure out the amount of epoxy you need. You can use Grip Lumen up to 2 cm thick. If you want a layer then you should measure out about 2 mm of epoxy per square cm of surface area. You can use our Epoxy Calculator for measuring.

Mix: Next, mix together the resin and hardener in a disposable cup or container, following the user manual. Make sure that they are thoroughly mixed before pouring.

Pour: Finally, pour the mixed resin and hardener while making sure that they are evenly spread out.

Wait: Epoxy needs to be left for a certain amount of time before it can be handled. Grip Lumen needs to cure, which takes about 18-24 hours. A good rule of thumb is to allow the epoxy to cure for at least 24 hours before handling.

What is mixing ratio of Grip Lumen?

It is important to mix the epoxy resin and hardener at the right ratio to ensure that the adhesive will set properly. The mixing ratio for Grip Lumen is

  • 2:1 by weight

  • 100:55 by volume

You can mix Grip Lumen epoxy resin with a ratio of 2 parts hardener to 1 part resin by weight or 100 parts hardener to 55 parts resin, both are right methods.

When you use the mixing ratio by weight, you should use a scale. When you are using the mix ratio by volume, you should use measuring cups. If you are not sure which one to use, we recommend that you use the scale because it is more accurate.

The Grip Lumen epoxy resin is a two-component system which means it needs two separate components, hardener and resin, to form a strong bond. To calculate the amount of epoxy resin to use, you need to know how many resin you will need.
